Community Ministry
Ministry within and without
At Christ Church, we find ways to minister to one another — strengthening the bonds of our community and leaning on one another. We also follow our Lord’s call to minister to those who are not inside our building — caring for the homeless, families living with food insecurity, and those affected by natural disasters and war, just to name a few.

Nutripacks- Our School Families in Need
We actively support Nutripacks — through collections, giving, and volunteering. Nutripacks serves our School District families who are struggling to find enough food to put on the table each week.
Homeless Minstries
We collect needed items throughout the year for our sister Homeless Ministries and Shelters. Recently, we began learning how to make mats for the homeless living in the tent cities in Harrisburg out of recycled plastic bags. The Spirit is always moving us to serve!
Disaster Response
When a natural disaster strikes, or a crises causes people to flee their homes, ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response is there. That is why we give generously to support the ELCA fund, who right now is working closely with Lutheran churches in and around Ukraine to provide shelter and basic needs for those fleeing violence. Give online now.
Ministry Within
Here are some of our in-house groups that meet regularly to strengthen our community and to support one another in joys and concerns.
The Adult Social Group is for church family members interested in socializing and getting to know one another better. Events are held periodically during the year, hosted by members at their homes.
Adult Social Group
The After-Five Group is open to all women of the congregation. The group meets for a monthly lunch and fellowship at the church– typically the 1st Wednesday at Noon. Other meetings are usually held in the evenings, like Book Studies and Blanket tying.
After-Five Group
The Fellowship Support Group prepares and serves food for congregational events.
Fellowship Support Group
Women of all ages gather once a month for a time of sharing and mutual support. We hold one another up through prayer, and offer to the group any prayer requests for friends or neighbors as well. We keep in touch via text throughout the month.
