Worship Ministry
Serving in God’s House
Worship is the most important thing we do as a community of faith. Everything else we do and are as a church family flows from this central event. Each member of our church family has the opportunity to be a part of our worship ministry to the degree of their interest and ability. This ministry involves more of our members on a regular basis than any other.
Altar Care
Persons are trained and scheduled to assist with the preparation of the chancel and nave for worship. Altar Care servants help deliver the day’s altar flowers to a member in need in our congregation.
Assisting Minister
Acolyte
Young people help light the candles, carry the cross in procession, and assist with Holy Communion.
Greeter
Greeters serve a ministry of hospitality, welcoming members and visitors before and after worship.
Lector (Reader)
Lectors are responsible for reading the appointed lessons at worship. All readings are mailed in advance.
Video Recorder
Each week’s worship is recorded and posted to our Facebook Group for those unable to attend worship in person.
Usher
Adult Choir
Handbell Choir
Tone Chime Choir
Ushers serve a ministry of hospitality, assist with the offering, and help everyone feel at home as we worship together.
The Adult Choir welcomes older teens and adults to lift their voices in praise and prayer. They practice one night a week and sing at the 10:30a.m. service from September – May. The Adult Choir is led by our organist and Director of Music, Gail Hrobuchak.
The Bell Choir welcomes middle schoolers through adults to ring out with joy in worship! They practice on Tuesday evenings at 6:45p.m. September to May, and provide bell music in both worship services on various occasions. The Bell Choir is led by Alan Wadsworth.
Children in grades 2-6 are welcome to join the musical fun, ringing Tone Chimes in worship. We practice at times that work for families–typically Sunday mornings before/after worship–and we prepare music for the Christmas & Easter seasons. The Tone Chime Choir is led by Alan Wadsworth.
